The Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics FKIE develops and designs systems for the Bundeswehr (German federal armed forces), civilian security services and industry. We acquire, transmit, process and protect data and make it available in a comprehensible form to help with the decision-making process.

Networked communication systems, sensor technology and data fusion are indispensable when it comes to the recognition of threats. They provide the basis of a reliable understanding of the operational scenario. The FKIE provides this technology and develops methods and procedures for all types of military reconnaissance whether it be on the ground, in the air, at sea or under water.

Command information systems produce an exact replica of the operational scenario from the acquired data while knowledge-based assistance systems link and visualize complex information and contextual knowledge. They “translate” data into information crucial for decision-making processes and generate a common understanding of the dangerous situations which can be shared by all operators.

The German Atlantic Association organizes high-ranking national and international public events, expert talks and conferences on security and defense policy.

Politicians, diplomats, economic leaders, scientists and high-level military personnel are guest speakers in seminars, panels and conferences on a regular basis.

Since the Paris Agreements through the Cuban missile crisis and the Prague Spring up to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the breakdown of the Warsaw Pact, NATO has been a constant in German foreign and security policy.

The German Atlantic Association has accompanied this partnership for more than 50 years. The Association’s mandate is to promote a broader and deeper understanding of the purpose of the Atlantic Alliance and of the politics of NATO.

The Association is an independent, non-partisan organization, supported by the majority of the parliamentary groups of the German Bundestag. The members of its Executive Board reflect the broad political support beyond party affiliations.

Hytrans Fire System (HFS);

HFS is an innovative super water supply system for fire brigades, civil defense and industries. The system features mobile large scale water supply over several kilometers from almost impossible access locations, still maintaining large capacities. A water supply system of 3.000 meter and 3.000 ltr/min can be operational in only 15 minutes time, requiring only a few persons to deploy and run the system. Since 1988 hundreds of units are deployed all over the globe. The first HydroSubs were delivered in 1988 to the Dutch government. Since then a lot of units were sold to countries like Belgium, Germany, Mexico, China, Indonesia.

Hytrans Traffic Systems (HTS);

Beside the Mobile Water Transport system Hytrans Systems also manufactures and delivers the Mobile Lane Signaling System (MRS) and Mobile Route Information system (MRI). These systems enables signaling over busy highways within five minutes and provides a safer and a better flow of traffic ,there by reducing congestion. MRS and MRI guarantees maximum security for both the road worker and the driver.
